I've hosted with them for 9 plus years and up until the last few months I thought they were really good. Two months ago they were bought by a larger company and when I went to renew my hosting, they doubled the price. I originally signed up for them because their guarantee said that future renewals would always be the same or less. When I questioned the doubling of price, they didn't care and said that there wasn't anything legally that they had to do or wanted to do to honor their original guarantee. If a company doesn't hold true to their word, what else can I trust. I can no longer trust anything they say and their hosting will likely double every year from here on out. Just another company that has lost their way in the greedy marketplace. Too bad. Before they were purchased by another company, I was completely happy. Now. Not so much.

I am supporting a Client that rented a Windows VPS from Mochahost for the last 4 years. They are now moving all their sites away due to the terrible service and frequent problems. Those include:
- randomly changed file and folder permissions on webserver, causing several PHP-Scripts and plugins to not work any longer
- random changes to Mailbox passwords
- unannounced changes to Mailserver configuration, so that the configured SPF and DKIM records didn't match any longer and all outgoing mail was flagged as Spam by the receiving mail servers
- suddenly messed up DNS records including duplicate and conflicting SPF and A records
- constant PHP errors in Plesk due to memory configuration being too strict to execute more complex functions like restoring backups
- repeatedly suspending wordpress installations with very vague explanations about the sites being compromised - it turned out to be a false positive caused by the WP file manager plugin
- the VPS host is generally very slow - they made my client upgrade to the "turbo speed" package which did only marginally help things
- their support ticket system is abysmal and keeps logging out the user while typing a reply which causes all the text to be lost when clicking the "submit reply" button - this is extremely annoying since we had to deal with their support A LOT!

The one thing they have going for them is that they are very cheap and their support usually answers quickly. The quality of their support staff differs wildly though. We spent days troubleshooting and diagnosing problems that were in 90% of the time caused by something in their systems breaking or their staff making configuration changes to the system without telling us. The overall experience has been extremely frustrating and I would not recommend this to anyone who values their time or is trying to host any serious business application with them...

I would give zero stars if I could, Signed up they made me migrate site on my own with no help. It was done correctly but still they could not get my site active. And they tried to force me to transfer my domain to them. When I requested a refund, they gave me instructions that did not work. I did a charge back with Credit Card. Do not how they got so many good reviews must be fake.

I'd like to share the alert about this company and share the suspicious business practices of the company. They suspended services all of sudden after receiving the payment, and asking to send personal photo, ID, and credit cards for their billing and account verification purposes even though the payment went through without any problem. And not responding to remove the suspending after receiving those information. Most credit processing companies these days provide several levels of fraudulent prevention measures, such as ASV, PCI-DSS etc. And they do not seem to follow CCPA rules to protect consumer data privacy, does not include the feature to delete the account even after canceling their services. So concerned how they are going to use those personal information they have collected so far.

The worst thing that can happen when you are investing time and money into a web property is to have an incompetent registrar lose your domain. That's exactly what Mochahost did with my domain - groupdog.com. I even received the "your subscription is coming due in 30 days" email while right in the middle of trying to figure out why my domain was now owned by someone else. They offered me $10 refund for the domain registration fee. You may pay Mochahost for a service, but they will not keep their end of the deal. Buyer beware.

Absolute zero customer service and shiesty on price increases..
The platform for this company is not put together well and they offer 0 customer service with a no telephone number whatsoever you feel like you're stuck and no one needs to feel that way when they're trying to do business with a company.
